It's Not About Who You Know, But Who Knows You.

I think Lars' own words are best for starting his story: "after more than 10 years in Corporate America, I began to entertain thoughts of starting my own business. I felt the corporate world was a bit stifling and that most efforts by employees within that structure went unrecognized. I also wanted decision-making power over my career; especially in this age of outsourcing. I knew I had the skills to run my own business, but I had no idea of how to even begin that process..."

So that's how Lars started the down the path of exploring business ownership with me. He's excellent at building strong relationships, he's systematic and he's persistent. That's a recipe for success with any number of opportunities. He knew he wanted to build a business that could support his beautiful family with plenty of growth potential. He wanted to have nights and weekends free for that family. We found that he liked being in a professional setting and that the support provided by the franchise was important to him.

After looking at several franchises, Lars found a franchise that would really fit his goals and lifestyle expectations. By purchasing this franchise, Lars was allowed to use his outgoing personality and relationship building skills that he really prides himself on. What does Lars think about being a business owner? "As a business owner, you will wear many hats and be stretched developmentally in ways you would not have imagined. It is an exhilaratingly terrifying experience, but know that when you make the leap you won't look back and you will become an entrepreneur, one of the few people in our society who has the privilege and honor of owning their own business and being in charge of their lives. You will also have a network of fellow entrepreneurs who have all been there before and can help you. Take advice wherever you can get it and network like mad. Remember it's not really about whom you know, but who knows you!"
